How do you know if your child needs therapy or if they are experiencing possible developmental delays?

It is important that you act early if you have concerns about the way your child plays, learns, speaks, acts, or moves. You can check your child's developmental milestones based on their age at: CDC's Developmental Milestones.

Are you accepting new kids?

Yes, we are accepting new kiddos. You can call our office at (470)589-1742 to schedule an appointment or you can go to the Contact Us Form Page and fill out the form. Once you fill out the form, a therapist will call you as quickly as possible to schedule a visit.

How old are the individuals that you assist?

We treat newborns to end of life.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes. Scheduling an appointment will ensure that your child has enough time with the therapist to receive the best care.

What type of testing/assessments do you do?

The therapist will get some preliminary information from you ahead of time. Based on this information, the testing will either be standardized assessment or play-based assessment, depending on the age and level of the child.

Can I choose my own therapist?

We do all we can to pair your child up with the best specialist to meet their individualized needs. All of our specialist are highly qualified to treat your child. We will do all we can to meet your request for a particular therapist but we can't always guarantee that this will be the case.

Do you have therapist that specialize in feeding therapy?

Yes, we have highly trained specialists who will be able to assist your child in making meal time more nutritious and enjoyable. An occupational therapist will look at textural issues and help with chewing and swallowing. A feeding pathologist will focus on why there is an issue.

How long are therapy sessions?

The length of therapy/treatment sessions varies and is based on individual needs. A session range between 30 minutes and an hour. The typical speech therapy session is 30 minutes, whereas, the typical occupational therapy session is one hour.

How many times a week will my child need therapy?

We strive to provide the best individualize care for your child. Of course each child's needs will be different. A therapist will evaluate your child and suggest a course of action that will work best for your child and your schedule. This can be anywhere from 1 day a week to 3 days a week.

How long will therapy treatment last?

Buford Kids' Spot does not share any of your personal information with any third parties without your explicit consent. We adhere to HIPAA privacy. We secure all personal identifiable information (PII). All communication between your browser and our website is encrypted.

How do I know if my child's visit will be covered by my insurance company?

Health benefit coverage varies with each insurance plan or employer group. An accounts representative will call your insurance provider or plan to verify your benefits and seek authorization where necessary. However, we strongly encourage you to call your insurance, healthcare provider, or refer to your subscriber's handbook, regarding any questions you may have about coverage for specific services.
